the DO lectures.

This time last week I headed off to the very wet & windy Welsh countryside to visit the renowned DO lectures. The DO lectures showcase inspiring talks from people that are changing the world.

Held at the beautiful fforest we spent five wet days camping, eating, listening, drinking & story telling.
I met some truly amazing and awe inspiring people.

Baker brother Tom Herbert, talked about his family company
Hobbs House and taught us all how to bake bread.

Marion Deuchars, one of my favourite illustrators reminded us how great making a mess can be.
so I'll definitely be getting a mess desk in my studio that won't ever get cleaned up.

One of our very good friends Anna Felton, founder of
Monkstone Knitwear is doing something truly inspiring with her brand. Rearing sheep on her farm in Wales, she uses their wool to create her knitwear collection. Each jumper is unique and a percentage of the sales go back to the farm and the welsh factories that produce her jumpers. Regenerating the local area and using the local resources that get forgotten in mass manufacture.

I even did a spot of filming!

Some of my favourite speakers included James Victore - a graphic Designer from Brooklyn, Sean Carasso - founder of Falling Whistles a charity raising awareness about the war in Congo and a campaign for peace, Tim Smit - creator of the Eden project a visionary who left us pondering the c.s. lewis quote

"only imagination can lead you to meaning"
I left feeling truly inspired and remembering that

IDEAS CHANGE THINGS.
